peterherczeg.com changelog: --------------------------- 29/07/2026: Fired the Hungarian translator (turns out it was just an English thesaurus in a trenchcoat) — Loremzo's Hungarian voice now spouts nonsense that actually sounds Hungarian, not "flibberjabber" wearing a suffix. 28/07/2026: Sold the gears for scrap. In their place, truth in advertising: a big red "100% A.I. SLOP — GUARANTEED" stamp now slams onto the front page the moment it loads. Every reputable paper certifies its produce; mine happens to be slop. Also scrubbed a mysterious white box off the masthead — the paper is uniformly coffee-coloured again, as nature intended. 19/07/2026: The Consigliere sat for a new portrait — the pencil sketch is out, a halftone wirephoto is in: the Don rebuilt dot by dot like a 1950s press photo, chianti tie and all. He's also stopped holding still for it. He blinks, he winks when the verdict goes your way, and if you keep him waiting he gets twitchy — tail flicks, hat tugs, glances at the door. Ignore him at your own risk; he counts the seconds. 19/07/2026: The advice column is open — Donnut, tool six of five, because the paper apparently needed a mafia-don squirrel. Ask the Consigliere a question, he consults the acorn, you get a verdict, a column reply, and his unfiltered opinion of your typing speed. Ask too often and he lights a cigarette. Clip the column as a PNG and frame your FUGGEDABOUTIT. Everything happens on your device; his counsel is exactly as binding as advice from a squirrel should be. 19/07/2026: The Night Edition is open, and with it every desk on the sheet — Notte is the fifth tool of five. Notes for thoughts that arrive after midnight: markdown in a simplified editor under a desk lamp, saved only to your own browser. No account, no cookies, no server copy — I couldn't read your notes if I tried, and at 3 a.m. I have my own to worry about. 42,000 characters of ink in the well; export before you clear your browser data. The moth found the lamp immediately. 19/07/2026: The Letters desk is open! Loremzo is back from 2023, grumpier than ever and finally free of its PHP crutch — five voices now, including an all-Monty-Python corpus and complaints in 12th-century Hungarian (Iſa pur eſ chomuv uogmuc). Pick a voice, turn the dial, print the letter, paste it wherever filler text is tolerated. Four desks down, one to go. Thanks again, Lorenzo M. — still sick and tired of the ordinary lorem ipsum. 19/07/2026: The Typesetter's Bench is open! Tableizr takes whatever table-shaped mess you paste — tabs, commas, pipes, even columns lined up with spaces — sniffs out which one it is, and hands back a real table for Excel plus a box-drawing ASCII one for the terminal crowd. Three desks down, two to go. The coffee count column is purely autobiographical. 19/07/2026: The Type Case is open! Charz lays out 114 hand-picked sorts — arrows, checks, math, dashes, currency, emoji — each a real button with its codepoint and entity printed underneath. One click, copied, back to work. The ☕ is filed under emoji, where it belongs: within reach. 19/07/2026: The Dispatch Desk is open! Urlify rides again, thirteen years after its "working beta" — paste something (or let it politely pickpocket your clipboard), encode it, decode it, slug it eight ways. The ő and ű finally survive de-accenting. One desk down, four to go. 19/07/2026: The paper counts its readers now — no cookies, no IPs, just a hash that forgets your face by midnight. Built myself a little pressroom out back to read the circulation numbers over coffee. You're not invited; it's mostly zeros anyway. 19/07/2026: The presses are running! Headlines typeset themselves letter by letter, the gears actually mesh when you scroll (counted the teeth, did the math), and the coffee stains bleed in like I just set the cup down. Prefer things still? Tell your OS — the whole show politely sits down. 19/07/2026: Came clean in the bio — I build this whole draft hand-in-hand with Claude, an AI that doesn't touch coffee. Someone has to stay sober. 19/07/2026: Taught the sheet to fold — it reads on a phone now, survives a keyboard, and stopped blinding anyone in the dark. Hand-set a proper newspaper share card, too. Scored a perfect hundred with the accessibility inspector; the tools still don't work, but at least the paper's immaculate. 19/07/2026: Tore down the one-page prototype and rebuilt it as a proper press: real routes for all five tools, fonts and machinery now printed in-house (no more borrowing from the neighbours). Nothing you can use yet — but the presses are warm. 18/07/2026: Back from the dead after 13 years! Rebooting as a newspaper... a draft of one, anyway. First branded prototype hot off the press. Coffee stains included, free of charge. 25/07/2013: Same as last year, but with inverted “design” Near :) And a brand new working beta Urlifier! 26/08/2012: First signs of a website! A greeting and a vcard so far... And yes, it just takes this long, to make your own website. Hard to be the client and the contractor at the same time. 24/08/2011: Domain bought, yey! -START
